A better introduction

How to use a QR code as a business card.

Learn how a QR code business card works, where to place it, how to test it, and how a permanent card link avoids reprinting when details change.

Connect the QR code to a permanent page

Use the public address of the digital card rather than encoding every contact field directly into the image. A permanent page lets you update the details later while the printed QR code continues to open the same destination.

Design for reliable scanning

Keep a quiet border around the code, use strong contrast and avoid placing it over a photograph or textured background. Print it large enough for the expected viewing distance and do not crop or stretch the generated image.

Test the complete journey

Scan with at least two current phones, open the result on mobile data, confirm HTTPS, and test the important contact actions. Repeat the check after exporting artwork because layout and print tools can reduce contrast or blur the code.

Useful placements

A QR card can be placed on a paper card, event badge, reception sign, proposal, presentation closing slide or email signature. Use it only where a person has enough time and distance to scan safely.

Will the QR code change when I edit my NexaCard?

No. The QR code points to the permanent public card address, so published details can be updated without replacing the code already shared.

Should I put a QR code on top of a photograph?

Avoid busy or low-contrast backgrounds. A plain light or dark area with a clear quiet border produces a more dependable scan.

What should appear beside the code?

Add a short instruction such as ‘Scan to save my details’ and include a readable card address for people who cannot or prefer not to scan.
